Another tragedy in an already beleaguered nation
On Friday the 28th of March a new tragedy hit the nation of Myanmar, an earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude hit the center of the country, the nation already plagued by civil war, with groups opposing the military junta stablished in 2021, making severe gains in the periphery of the country.
Now the people of Myanmar see their woes turn for the worse, as near 2000 people have been found dead since friday’s Earthquake, with the mortality toll expected to worsen, after we enter into the 4th day of the aftermath.
With the military Junta declaring a week of mourning the situation is developing rapidly, as the UN appeals of 8 million dollars to be sent as relief effort, an ammount so miniscule that is doubtful wether it will make a difference.
There is a great effort in trying to rescue the 74 workers trapped inside the wreckage of an irrer citty high rise building, though there have not been any signs of life inside it for hours.
